Justine and Ben spent their whirlwind wedding day at the Azul Fives Hotel, where a cloudless August sky and stunning blue-green sea combined to make their destination wedding location a dream come true. But before this fun-loving, stylish couple stepped onto the ceremony aisle, they had to get ready!
During the Getting Ready session, I captured warm, intimate moments that Justine and Ben shared with their closest family and friends before the ceremony. The result was photographs that speak to the amazing love and support this lucky couple received from their loved ones on this incredibly special day — check out the photos below:
It was a big bridal party — the more the merrier in Justine’s spacious suite! Don’t you love how beautiful all the bridesmaids look in that romantic blush-pink color?
I love capturing the little details during the Getting Ready photo session, like the adorable blue and white garter that Justine slipped on.
She’s almost ready! Justine is simply glowing as her helpful bridesmaids smooth out her long train. It’s almost time for the big “I Do” moment …
What a dramatic image as Justine peeks through her delicate veil. She looks so stunning, and I love how her glimmering hair clip adds an extra touch of glamour to the photograph.
And so the procession to the beautiful ceremony location begins! Justine’s bridesmaids help keep her cool in the hot August heat with an umbrella — so she can absolutely stun as she walks down the aisle.

Justine and Ben’s ceremony at the Azul Fives Hotel was so chic and just over-the-top beautiful — just like Justine and Ben themselves.
From the glittering chandelier to the pretty pink roses and ribbon accents, every detail added up to an incredibly romantic occasion. And Justin and Ben couldn’t be more in love! Check out the stunning ceremony photos from this top rated resort, below:
The ceremony location and altar designed by Azul Fives was one of the most stunning I’ve ever seen. Although, since Justin and Ben’s Azul Fives wedding was in August, it did get quite hot during the ceremony because there was no shade.
If staying cool and fresh during your ceremony is very important to you, I suggest discussing your options with your wedding coordinator ahead of time to avoid any surprises. One thing you may want to do is provide paper umbrellas to your guests, so they can keep the sun off themselves during the ceremony.
Here comes the groom! While Ben looks dashing in his linen suit, it was still a little too stuffy for the August heat. For tips on how to keep the groom happy — and cool — when it comes to destination wedding attire, check out my article, Mexico Beach Wedding Groom Attire: How to Keep Him Happy.
Justine is all smiles once she makes it down the aisle. I was so glad I was able to capture the look of joy and pure love on her face in this moment.
Talk about a “wow” factor — the breathtaking aqua waters of the ocean peek through the altar, creating a beguiling backdrop as Justine and Ben exchange their vows.
The happy couple walk down the aisle one last time, full of smiles and filled with love. Both Justine and Ben are absolutely glowing, so grateful to be embarking on a new journey through life together. That’s what photographing the ceremony is all about — capturing keepsake moments like this.

Everywhere you look, there is beauty to be found — whether it’s the modern architectural details of the hotel, or the awe-inspiring deep blue color of the sea. Including the bridal party in the portrait photography session gave Justine a chance to capture the fun and silly side of her bridesmaids. These bridal party portraits would make a great gift to the bridesmaids as a “thank you” for all their support throughout the wedding planning process!
The guys, too, were all laughs during the session. Ben’s groomsmen certainly were not afraid to get a little goofy — which made for some extra memorable photos!
I love when a bride wears a veil during her photo session. It allows for stunning photo opportunities allowing me to capture them in elegant breath-taking poses.
The portrait photos taken out on the pier were just perfect — but they almost didn’t happen! We needed permission from the Azul staff to go out on the pier. Luckily, we got permission in time. To avoid a situation like this, I would suggest getting permission from your wedding coordinator ahead of time to get access to the pier or other special locations.
The modern, graphic decor of the Azul Fives Hotel was a great match for the couple’s sleek style. The backdrop made for youthful, interesting portrait photos that I know Justine and Ben will cherish forever.
Taking breathtaking, natural light photos of Justine, Ben, and the entire bridal party was so much fun. We got to explore the most beautiful parts of the hotel grounds together, and I captured plenty of special moments of the couple where you can truly see their love for one another shine through. Justine and Ben capped off an incredible wedding day with an amazing reception — see the photos of all the dancing and swoon-worthy decor details here.

If you love thoughtful design details, romantic lighting and color schemes, and super chic wedding fashion, then you’re going to love Justine and Ben’s wedding reception at the Azul Fives Hotel. From the glamorous golden candlesticks at every table, to the romantic pink-hued cocktails and cakes, everything about this stylish wedding reception was so well thought out. Not to mention, it is so clear that the new bride and groom had an absolute blast with all their guests! Check out the fun photos below:
The Azul team truly went over the top in making Justine and Ben’s reception location look like a fairy tale come to life. The ribbon accents on the chairs add a beautiful “pop” of color.
Photographed in black and white, the bride and groom’s first dance feels extra classic and refined.
Justine and Ben seemed to be very close with their families, so it was so much fun to watch them boogie down with their families during the reception. Later that night, Justine and her dad surprised the crowd by singing a special song together!
Justine danced the night away — but luckily, she and Ben were able to join me early the next morning for a “Trash the Dress” session. They met me at the public beach right outside the Azul Fives Hotel at 8 am, and I had such an amazing time photographing Justine and Ben as they swam and splashed in the beautiful water. And don’t worry, her gown will be fine — all it needs is a good dry cleaning!
Every detail of this Azul Fives weddings reception was exceptional, and I know the happy couple made lifelong memories with their loved ones this night. What a wonderful way to kick off their new lives together.

Photographing Tamara and Elaine at the lush Vidanta resort in the Riviera Maya was an absolute pleasure.
The couple struck the perfect balance between being stylish, fun-loving and so sincerely in love. Unlike many Mexico destination weddings, Tamara and Elaine’s big day was not super small — they had about 60 guests make the trip down south to celebrate them.
But before they started celebrating with all their friends and family, I got to capture more intimate moments during the “getting ready” session.
At Tamara and Elaine’s beachside ceremony in the Riviera Maya, it was all about sharing the love.
Close friends were treated like family, and the couple made an extra effort to include their loved ones on their marriage journey. For example, Tamara and Elaine had a group of their closest friends form a circle around them during the ceremony, to represent how they’ll lean on their friends for support and encouragement throughout their marriage. Take a look at the sweet celebration of love and friendship below in a Vidanta Wedding:
Talk about the perfect day for photographing wedding portraits! At the Vidanta resort in the Riviera Maya, couple Tamara and Elaine blew me away with their glamorous, unique sense of style.
Vidanta Riviera Maya resort proved to be the ultimate backdrop for these portraits; Tamara and Elaine’s all-white outfits popped against the turquoise decor and bright blue waters of the resort. Tamara is a photographer herself, so I felt so honored that she trusted me to capture her wedding day. I think every portrait so clearly illustrates the love these two have for each other — check them out below: (more…)
Tamara and Elaine’s beachside Vidanta wedding reception was all about togetherness.
The couple was keenly concerned with making all of their guests feel welcomed and loved. For example, right after Tamara and Elaine’s first dance, they invited all of their guests out on the dance floor with them. I think the bonds of friendship and family grew even stronger during this breathtaking reception!

The wedding of Andrew and Marilyn at the Now Sapphire Resort was full of love, family, and impeccable style. The couple celebrated their shared Mexican heritage with a destination wedding at this stunning Mexican resort, and they celebrated their big day with their two large families eager to see the lovebirds unite. Andrew and Marilyn opted for an eight-hour wedding — which meant I had plenty of time to capture gorgeous photos!
