Barb and Kevin, a couple from Truman, Minnesota, didn’t let a bit of rain spoil their intimate wedding celebration at the breathtaking Grand Oasis Tulum resort.
In fact, the rainy weather did have an upside: the resort and the beaches were far less crowded, so the couple and their family were privy to an incredibly private ceremony and photos that were completely free of onlookers in the background — that doesn’t happen often with Mexico beach weddings!
The rain also gave us the chance to use different parts of the resort as photo backdrops, including the gardens, fountains, and other gorgeous nooks and crannies. The 5 pm ceremony on the resort terrace bathed the couple in a beautiful light, despite the rain. Surrounded by Barb’s three grown sons and her son Eric’s girlfriend, the couple tied the knot with huge smiles on their faces. Barb and Kevin’s Grand Oasis Tulum wedding photos below are proof that a little rain can’t put a damper on true love!
Barb wanted a lot of photos with her loving family, so I had the whole family hang out as a group during the portrait sessions in order to capture sweet moments like this!
The bout of rain that swept in while we were taking photos on the beach presented the perfect opportunity to break out these fun umbrellas.
Barb’s gorgeous bouquet and the men’s boutonnieres were provided by the resort — they did an exceptional job pairing classic white blooms with more fun pops of color.
I love capturing precious, intimate moments between couples embarking on a new life together — rain or shine. Congrats to Barb and Kevin on their sweet celebration and new journey together!
